A personalized adventure
Phnom Penh is truly a shoppers paradise! It seems like everywhere you look in this vibrant city, there are shops, bazaars, retail outlets, shopping arcades and malls!
No matter what you are looking for, the merchants of Phnom Penh probably have it for sale… but finding what you are looking for is another matter!
For our Shopping Paradise tour, we choose the best locations in the city with the most options. Choose items from over 500 different merchants, many at amazing prices!
And don’t worry about haggling. We’ve got you covered. Our guides will negotiate the best possible price and make sure that any purchases are safe and secure.
Did you know? The Cambodian Riel (the local currency) comes in 10 different denominations of ៛50, ៛100, ៛500, ៛1,000, ៛2,000, ៛5,000, ៛10,000, ៛20,000, ៛50,000 and ៛100,000. The most common bill seems to be the ubiquitous ៛100 Riel note, which is worth about 2 cents! So after a day of shopping, you will likely have a pocket full of colorful local currency.
Since the re-establishment of the Cambodian Central Bank in 1980, the US dollar has been the default currency for about 90% of transactions in the country. This has been both a hedge on inflation and a less bulky system as larger ៛50,000 and ៛100,000 notes are seldom use. And with the ៛100,000 note sitting at around $25, the US $100 dollar bill is the most widely used denomination.
But beware! There are some counterfeit $100 and $50 bills in circulation, and if you end up with one, you will be out of luck. Virtually no merchant or bank will accept any large bill unless it is pristine!
All worries aside, the maze of shops in Phnom Penh may be some of the most unusual and surprising shopping you have ever experienced! Our expert team will guide you through the maze and do their best to help you find what you are looking for a great price.

When to come?
Anytime is a good time to visit Cambodia but most people prefer to visit during the dry season, from November to April, with the “cool season” of November to February being particularly pleasant. However, prices tend to be higher around this busy period.
What to bring?
Pack lightweight, breathable clothing, comfortable shoes, Insect repellent and sunscreen. For day tours it is a good idea to wear light clothes that cover your skin, they will keep you cool and protect you from the sun.
